We use safe bird dye, safe un-oiled rope, non toxic materials, vegetable tanned leather, stainless steel or nickel plated hardware. All toys for birds are made in a bird-free workshop.
My Conure loves this toy.
Dye/Coloring from the heart vines discolored my beautiful white albino bird. The feathers above her cere to the top of her head are now pink! There’s also some slightly assorted discoloration on her breast feathers. Her head was affected more because she loved chewing the cork. She’s taken several baths since and the pink is still very dominant. I’d like to know if red dye #4 was used on the red vines, and if not what was used instead??
Sometimes colored wood can transfer onto your bird's feathers. I use a safe non-toxic colorant, Americolor. Some colors like pink, easily transfer especially with water. It will wash off of your bird's feathers in time. I am always happy to make no-color versions, upon request.
